Round-up of past week
Hatchford Hotel
- Made a few tiny tweaks to script based on some lingering notes.
- Met with Megan and Ian F. last night to talk about what I might be able to do next with HH. Ian had quite a surprise for me. More on that later.
Elephants of Scotland
- Talked with Greg about “Beyond” and he’s not as sold on it as I had hoped. So, it is shelved (for now).
- More pre-production on “Cool Rabbits,” “All That Sky,” and “Tempest of Tarragon”
- Those three tunes are now ready for drum tracking.

Elephants of Scotland
- Spent yesterday and today composing, arranging, and practicing the drum part for “Tempest of Tarragon.”
- It is a very unconventional song so it needs extra work in the arranging stage to make it sound “normal.”

Elephants of Scotland
- Sat down to work on “Cool Rabbits” but found myself rearranging an very old song of Greg’s “Beyond”
- Recorded two demos and sent to him for review.

Elephants of Scotland
- Final song structure in place for “Tempest of Tarragon” – removed a few bars here, added some there.
- Then I found a short piece of prose that Greg wrote that I want to use as a spoken piece in the instrumental.
- Which lead me to another of Greg’s pieces that should be an entire prelude/introduction/separate track
- So now “The Tempest of Tarragon” will probably be 2 or 3 minutes longer still.
- TBD
- Then I rehearses/composed drum parts. Almost there – not quite.
